About The Position
The Security Operations Analyst position is responsible for maintaining the agency's IT security program in accordance with Commonwealth of Virginia IT Security policies and standards. The role also involves supporting school divisions in security planning and ensuring student privacy. This position is funded until June 30, 2025, with funding decisions to be revisited before the end date. Wage employees serve at the will and pleasure of the appointing authority and are not covered by the provisions of the Virginia Personnel Act, meaning they are not eligible for benefits typically provided to salaried employees. They are paid only for the hours they work and are subject to specific work hour limitations.
