Sentinel is looking for a Security Onboarding Engineer (Fortis Security) to join our team! As a Security Onboarding Engineer, your primary responsibility is facilitating our customer's technical transition to Sentinel's award-winning support services smoothly and without interruption. This role will primarily focus on two main responsibilities: (1) onboarding new clients to begin receiving Sentinel's Fortis security offerings through projects and (2) servicing existing customers by working on cases to ensure their Fortis service is ingesting the appropriate security logs and functioning optimally. The role will also include the provisioning, configuration, and deployment of multiple security tools within Sentinel's security portfolio. This will include CCNA-CCNP level route switch configuration and troubleshooting. Working with internal and external IT resources, you will be responsible to ensure the client's continued satisfaction on their way to receiving Sentinel's suite of award-winning services. This position is reporting onsite in Downers Grove, IL with the ability to work remotely 20% of the week.

  • Onboard new clients to begin receiving Sentinel's Fortis security offerings through projects.
  • Service existing customers by working on cases to ensure their Fortis service is ingesting the appropriate security logs and functioning optimally.
  • Provision, configure, and deploy multiple security tools within Sentinel's security portfolio.
  • Perform CCNA-CCNP level route switch configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Work with internal and external IT resources to ensure client satisfaction.
  • 2-5 years' experience in a networking/security engineering related position.
  • Certifications preferred: CCNA Routing/Switching or CCNA Security, CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+, Splunk Power User or Certified Enterprise Admin, or other similar certifications.
  • Experience working with Splunk and/or security ingest configuration.
  • Experience with configuring and deploying security-based tools such as Cisco XDR, Microsoft XDR, Duo, Cisco AMP, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco ESA, Illumio, Tenable, and others.
  • Experience with building VPN tunnels and experience with Firewalls.
  • Ability to perform CCNA-level or higher route, switch, and firewall configurations and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledgeable on basic network translation configuration and dynamic routing protocols.
  • Experience with monitoring systems (i.e. SolarWinds Orion).
  • Experience working in a virtual server environment, VMWare experience is a plus.
  • Experience in working with an ITSM ticketing system and/or delivering projects to external clients.
  • Basic understanding of customer change management and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users effectively.
  • Ability to work cohesively as a member of a team within a project management environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between locations and the transportation of equipment.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
