About The Position
Fairview is seeking an experienced Security Officer to join our team at the University of MN Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. This position is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff, and property within the hospital environment. The Security Officer will be responsible for responding to the needs of hospital patients, visitors, and staff, providing assistance, and maintaining high standards of customer service. The role involves proactive measures to prevent theft and vandalism, and may require involvement in high-risk situations that necessitate a range of safety precautions. As a Security Officer, you will patrol designated areas to maintain a safe environment, document daily activities in our report writing system, and respond to various calls, including crisis situations. You will work with unpredictable populations, requiring teamwork and clear communication. The position also demands the use of de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution skills, and risk analysis to effectively manage situations. Additionally, you will nurture a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking within the team, demonstrating the ability to adjust your approach based on the developmental level and cultural differences of the populations served.
