Saint Anselm College, a private liberal arts institution in the Benedictine tradition, is seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a full-time Safety and Security Officer. This position is essential for maintaining the safety and security of our college community. The officer will be required to work either a midnight shift from 10 PM to 8 AM or an evening shift from 2 PM to 12 AM. The role involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring a secure environment for students, faculty, and staff. The Safety and Security Officer will be tasked with providing emergency services, conducting regular campus patrols, securing buildings, facilitating traffic flow, and enforcing parking regulations. This position is critical in responding to emergencies and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. The officer will also be expected to interact with a diverse range of individuals, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations. Candidates must be detail-oriented, honest, dependable, and flexible, with a strong ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, along with two to three years of relevant experience and at least one year of security or law enforcement training. An Associate's Degree is preferred. A valid driver's license is also required, as the officer may need to operate a vehicle as part of their duties. Given that the department operates 24/7, the successful candidate must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts as necessary, with weekend hours being a requirement.
