About The Position

The Security Officer at Loews Coral Gables Hotel is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests and employees while protecting hotel property and assets. This role involves patrolling the hotel facility, monitoring access points, and responding to security incidents, all while providing excellent guest service.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Minimum two years previous Security department experience preferred at a similar quality property.
  • CPR certified.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol and monitor hotel facility to ensure safety and security of guests and employees.
  • Report suspicious or unsafe activities to Security management.
  • Perform Security Office, Employee Entrance, and Patrol operations as outlined in the Standards of Performance Manual.
  • Understand and respond appropriately to all Hotel Emergency Response Procedures.
  • Control access to employee entrances and maintain visitor sign-in/out logs.
  • Inspect packages entering and exiting through employee entrances.
  • Verify that materials leaving the facility are accompanied by a signed package removal pass.
  • Patrol front of house, back of house, and exterior areas, reporting hazards or suspicious behavior.
  • Prepare maintenance requests for safety-related issues identified during patrols.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras and document security-related issues in reports.
  • Log, store, and return lost and found items according to hotel policies.
  • Enforce hotel rules and regulations in accordance with the Employee Manual.
  • Interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Respond to guest and employee incidents, securing areas as necessary.
  • Complete daily reports in accordance with the Safety Security Manual.
  • Operate departmental vehicles as needed.
  • Assist in the collection/distribution of employee uniforms and paychecks.
  • Document after-hour storeroom entries and ensure proper requisition for items removed.
