About The Position

The Security Officer at Lucas County Children Services is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of staff, the building, and property. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience or education in safety and security practices, preferably a 2-year degree in law enforcement.
  • Ability to receive CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer or learn to do so.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Home/Cell phone number required.
  • Physical examination required after job offer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide security functions to ensure the safety of staff, building, and property.
  • Perform safety and security checks of the building, including monitoring security cameras and the parking garage.
  • Act as the first responder to all emergency situations and contact local police and emergency personnel as necessary.
  • Monitor specified client visitations and assist staff in dealing with visitors/clients.
  • Write reports and log all accidents and incidents.
  • Perform background checks via internal and external systems.
