About The Position

The primary purpose of the position is to provide security for patients, employees, and visitors; protect hospital buildings, assets, and premises as assigned. The role involves maintaining established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• Have or obtain an Unarmed Guard certification from Oregon Department of Public Safety and Security.
• Previous experience in security operations, criminal justice law enforcement or related field preferred.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft operating systems and MS Office.
• Work well with limited supervision and possess current CPR and CPI certification.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree preferred.
• Bi-lingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders.
• Monitor conduct of visitors on hospital premises; confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.
• Report safety and/or fire hazards or security violations.
• Respond to inquiries for advice or assistance from hospital personnel, students, and visitors; provide restraints of psychiatric patients as needed.
• Participate in investigations; maintain records and prepare incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.
• Secure and/or unlock offices and facilities.
• Secure patient valuables or lost and found articles; maintain logs of items received.
• Control parking and traffic flow; enforce parking regulations.
• Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies; maintain department records, reports, and files as required.
• Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops; attend meetings as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
