About The Position

The Security Officer at Raytheon is responsible for protecting life, safeguarding classified and sensitive information, and securing the facility and offsite locations. This role requires a high level of mental and physical coordination, especially in emergency situations, and involves monitoring security operations to prevent damage, sabotage, and crimes. The officer will also be tasked with investigating incidents, enforcing regulations, and maintaining order within the facility.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to acquire and maintain necessary clearances.
  • Meet State registration and Certification requirements for Texas Department of Public Safety and obtain Level III Commission.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Remain calm and exercise good judgment in emergency situations.
  • Maintain a current Texas Driver's License to operate company vehicle.
  • Stand and walk for long periods and withstand severe weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of security techniques and equipment.
  • Understand and apply rules, regulations, and principles of security and criminal law.
  • Experience reading plans and diagrams related to security operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Current TS/SSBI clearance preferred.
  • Previous training in DOD Industrial security administration, loss prevention, and fire protection preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED knowledge/certification preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Protect life and safeguard property against fire, negligence, sabotage, and other damages.
  • Investigate security incidents, safety hazards, and accidents.
  • Extinguish fires, direct traffic, and enforce related rules and regulations.
  • Guard assigned gates and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized entry.
  • Exercise tact and judgment when dealing with employees and personnel.
  • Make detailed reports of accidents, violations, and suspicious circumstances.
  • Notify emergency response personnel during major incidents or accidents.
  • Provide oral and written reports concerning security infractions and incidents.
  • Operate the security control center and electronic access gates.
