Requirements

  • Must have certifications including CPR and First Aid, or ability to obtain such within 90-days.
  • Must have/be willing to obtain an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification once hired.
  • Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
  • High School or GED equivalent is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidate will have EMT certification.
  • Preferred candidate will have three years previous experience as a security officer, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entry and exit points of the community to ensure that only authorized individuals have access.
  • Respond swiftly to alarms by investigating and determining the cause, ensuring that proper actions are taken to resolve any issues.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the campus, including parking areas, walkways, and buildings, to deter and detect any suspicious activity.
  • Be the first point of contact during emergencies, providing assistance and guidance to residents, guests, and staff.
  • Perform routine checks of security equipment, such as surveillance cameras, communication devices, and alarms, to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Respond to calls for assistance with empathy and professionalism, ensuring that everyone feels safe and cared for within the community.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all security activities, including patrols, incidents, and interactions with residents, staff, and visitors.
