About The Position

As a Security Officer - Government Site - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support access control, observe and document activity, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. Requirements

  • The client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site occupants by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned areas, including interior spaces, common areas, and exterior perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts when appropriate and requesting assistance from supervisors and/or local responders as needed.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity per post orders, including verifying authorization, directing individuals to appropriate areas, and maintaining an orderly flow of traffic within the facility.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and unusual conditions using written reports and/or electronic systems, and promptly communicate concerns to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.
