This Security Officer role provides security for patients, guests, and employees, enforces company policies and procedures, and performs duties to ensure security in a courteous and professional manner. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of practice and clean DMV report
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), and firearms training
  • International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire
  • Successful completion of the FTO Program within the first 60 days of employment
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individual.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
  • Ability to continuously walk the company property including outside areas, interior areas, using stairwells in 11 floor plus structure.

Responsibilities

  • Enforces all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
  • Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company.
  • Investigates accidents and other incidents which are assigned and reports all occurrences in a timely manner.
  • Performs opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration and performs other safety and security related duties as assigned.
  • Participates in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
  • Maintains required annual certifications and completes training requirements within required time periods.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
  • Maintains and complies with the company's Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including the immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct; patient/employee safety, patient privacy, and/or other compliance-related concerns.
