This Part-Time Security Officer position, specifically for Access Control in Sterling, VA, involves serving and safeguarding clients in industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom. At a dynamic tech location, the officer will manage access control, monitor entry points, verify credentials, and foster a professional and welcoming environment. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by following site-specific access control procedures, badge verification steps, and other security-related policies at a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, review credentials, manage visitor processing, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas such as data rooms, offices, and support spaces.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts, emergency services, and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Document daily activity, access exceptions, and incident details in required logs and reports, and report unusual conditions or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, with work environments and conditions varying by location.
