About The Position

A Security Officer monitors and assures a safe environment for customers and employees at the Memorial Midtown Station, Denver Avenue Station and public transportation vehicles. This role involves maintaining knowledge of safe work practices, including reporting unsafe conditions. The officer is expected to know MetroLink Tulsa’s policies, procedures, and practices, maintain confidentiality of all company, customer, and personnel-related information, and actively monitor transfer stations, bays, and the security camera system. They must report any malfunctions to the Security Manager and coordinate with the Safety Director for security camera pictures. The position requires the ability to cope with situations firmly, courteously, tactfully, and with respect for others' rights, analyze situations quickly and objectively, understand and carry out instructions, write and speak effectively, comply with security regulations, report to work regularly, and investigate vehicular accidents involving MetroLink Tulsa vehicles.

Requirements

CLEET Certification Phase I & II required
Oklahoma Driver’s License and good driving record required
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
Working knowledge of local, state, and federal security regulations is required
Ability to handle numerous activities at one time
Ability to understand and interpret local, state, and federal regulations is essential
Must have the ability to interact in a positive manner with all MTTA personnel and the public
Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical
Perform various physical activities that include walking, standing, kneeling and bending with no impairment in movement of head and eyes
Ability to withstand exposure to negative surroundings such as uncomfortable weather conditions, dust, and engine fumes
Requires ability to hear and see; visually perform essential functions for satisfactory job performance
Ability to view the premises and the customers to ensure a safe environment
Must be safety conscious and avoid accidents if possible

Nice To Haves

CLEET Certification Phase IV recommended
Experience in the field of security is preferred

Responsibilities

Knows MetroLink Tulsa’s policies, procedures, and practices.
Maintain confidentiality of all company, customer and personnel related information.
Actively walks around and monitors the transfer stations and bays to ensure the safety of all customers and employees during the hours of operation.
Actively monitors the security camera system and immediately reports any malfunctions to the Security Manager.
Coordinate with the Safety Director if pictures from the security camera system need to be obtained.
Ability to cope with situations firmly, courteously, tactfully and with respect for the rights of others.
Analyze situations quickly and objectively and determine a proper course of action to be taken.
Reports any problems to Security Manager.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to write and speak effectively.
Complies with security regulations of MetroLink Tulsa.
Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
Investigates vehicular accidents involving MetroLink Tulsa vehicles.
Performs other incidental duties as may be assigned.
