About The Position
International Protective Service, Inc. (IPS) is seeking quality candidates for the position of LEVEL 3, Armed Security Officer in Albuquerque, New Mexico. IMMEDIATE OPENINGS FOR APPLICANTS HOLDING A CURRENT LEVEL 3 NM GUARD CARD. NEW TO SECURITY PROFESSION? INDIVIDUALS NOT CURRENTLY POSSESSING A LEVEL 3 NM GUARD CARD CAN ATTEND OUR IPS TRAINING ACADEMY AND BE CONSIDERED FOR EMPLOYMENT UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF CLASS AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS. Applicants MUST meet ALL the following MINIMAL requirements. This is a "variable hours" position based on the scheduling needs of our clients and your willingness to work.
Requirements
- Be able to purchase all required gear (ie. duty belt, holsters, etc.) Uniforms are provided.
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid NM State Driver's License
- Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be either a United States citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
- Must NOT have been convicted of, or pled guilty or nolo contendere to, a criminal offense in any state, territory, district of the United States or foreign country, that would exclude you from obtaining/maintaining a Security Guard License.
- Have a clean Driving Record & provide a copy from the State of NM
- MUST currently hold a Level 3 Guard Card through the NM RLD (Please see the NM RLD website for qualifications)
- IPS holds in-house certification classes onsite, please call for more information.
- MUST pass a full background check including drug-screening
- Prior employment, criminal and credit history will be verified.
- English (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Current/Former/Retired Law Enforcement or Military experience PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED.
- NM Level III Guard Card (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
- Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
- Warning violators of premise rules and regulations
- Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
- Report on any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes
- Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations
