About The Position

As a Security Officer for Manhattan Village in Manhattan Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will support guests and tenants with clear communication, timely reporting, and customer-focused assistance. Requirements

• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, tenants, employees, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and/or mall location.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior common areas, tenant corridors, loading areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, as directed by post orders.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision, supporting a positive shopping environment.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, medical events, property concerns, and/or alarm activations.
• Control access to non-public areas by checking identification, monitoring delivery activity, and verifying vendor and/or contractor authorization when required by site procedures.
• Monitor CCTV, alarm panels, and other security-related systems when assigned, escalating issues through the proper notification chain.
• Assist with crowd management and traffic flow during peak shopping periods, promotions, and/or special events as directed by site procedures.
• Complete accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
• Communicate professionally with store staff, property management, local law enforcement, and/or emergency services as needed, relaying clear and concise information.
• Support loss prevention and security-related awareness by observing and reporting policy violations and suspected theft indicators, following site procedures and reporting requirements.
