About The Position

As a Security Officer - Chemical Access Gate in Deer Park, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. You will play a key role in managing entry points, verifying credentials, and providing outstanding customer service. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) issued by TSA is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the chemical and petrochemical location, verifying identification and credentials of personnel and visitors.
  • Follow site-specific policies and procedures for access control, including visitor management and contractor check-in processes.
  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by addressing questions and assisting with directions within the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter of the chemical and petrochemical facility to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, unusual activity, or potential hazards observed during patrols or while monitoring access points.
  • Work collaboratively with client personnel and emergency responders as needed during incidents and/or drills.
  • Maintain a professional presence and adhere to the appearance standards set by Allied Universal while on post.
