About The Position

As a Security Officer - for Manhattan Village in Manhattan Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail mall location, you will conduct routine foot and driving patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist tenants, guests, and staff with a calm, customer-focused approach. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site leadership, and respond to concerns with integrity. Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a retail or mall location.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or operational concerns.
• Monitor and report unusual activity, suspicious behavior, and/or policy violations; document observations in shift reports and communicate updates to site leadership as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications, assisting with crowd control, and/or supporting first responders upon arrival.
• Control access through designated entry points as assigned, provide directions and assistance to shoppers and tenants, and help maintain orderly movement during peak traffic periods and special events.
