Job Description Now Hiring Full Time Security Officers! Working in conjunction with a Metropolitan Transit Task Force and our client security teams. MetroLink security professionals provide safety and security of riders on the transit light rail system, station platforms throughout the Greater St. Louis region. Customer service skills are a high priority. This is an outdoor posted position. Duties will include post security until relieved.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be able to lift more than 20 pounds, preferred.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate personnel and/or public agency partners as required by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, transit-adjacent areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance or access issues.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, monitoring visitor sign-in and/or badge procedures, and directing individuals to the appropriate destination per site policy.
  • Complete routine reports, incident documentation, and daily activity logs, and communicate observations and escalations to Allied Universal supervision using approved communication methods.
