About The Position

As a Security Officer - Medical Center - Multiple Shifts in Overland Park, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support patients, visitors, and staff with exceptional customer service and communication while contributing to a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
  • Be able to work in a hospital environment that includes a morgue.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate for a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and/or conditions needing attention.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, assisting with access control procedures and helping to address unauthorized access, disruptive behavior, and/or visitor concerns.
  • Support daily operations at the location by communicating with staff and visitors, providing directions, and assisting during medical-related and/or facility-related situations as instructed by site procedures.
