About The Position

DUS IS A LEADER IN CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROTECTION AND EXCELS IN PROVIDING WRAP-AROUND SECURITY SERVICES. WE ARE ACTIVELY HIRING PROFESSIONAL AND DEPENDABLE SECURITY OFFICERS ACROSS THE ANCHORAGE AREA WITH EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES AT MULTIPLE CLIENT JOBSITES. JOB SUMMARY Under limited supervision, the Security Officer provides security and protection of work site(s), personnel and assets at the assigned job site. Enforces safety measures, performs regular patrols of assigned premises, and responds to incidents based on established operational procedures. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but duties may differ depending on business necessities and client requirements.

Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to proficiently speak, read, understand, and write English.
At least one year of law enforcement, military or security experience, preferably working in building security
Maturity of judgement and behavior.
Valid driver’s license.
Certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED or able to obtain prior to starting work
Ability to be licensed as an Armed Security Officer in accordance with the laws and regulations of the state of Alaska
Ability to become certified in the use of handcuffs, Oleoresin Capsicum spray, and Conducted Electric Weapon (Taser™)
As a condition of employment, must be able to successfully complete a criminal background investigation, drug screen, and a post-offer physical/fitness for duty evaluation.

Responsibilities

Enforce client security policies and procedures at the assigned job site.
Provide protection of personnel, assets, and property from such events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment and other disruptive incidents.
Control access of personnel, materials and equipment to and within the work sites.
Perform active security patrols.
Respond to general alarms, power outages, broken water/power lines and security breaches of any kind
Maintain radio/telephone communications
Be observant and alert at all times.
Display courteous, respectful and professional interactions with the public and customers.
Collaborate with other security officers for effective protection and coverage.
