Provides security services to promote a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, physicians, and assets.

Requirements

• Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Works under direct supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• No experience required
• High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire
• Valid driver's license and 21 years of age required upon hire
• AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention Level III Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position

Nice To Haves

• IAHSS-Basic/Advanced Training Certificate- Completion of Basic/Advanced Certification Exam from International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigates and manages all security incidents and hazards on the premises and other organizational properties.
• Maintains knowledge of and follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.
• Facilitates planned drills and simulations.
• Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote their safety on the premises.
• Manages facility access and security surveillance systems.
• Manages violent behavior patients and visitors utilizing crisis management training.
• Monitors critical systems such as fire alarms, generators, elevators, and emergency call boxes.
• Performs threats and hazard assessments by both foot and vehicle patrol.
• Acts as a liaison with local law enforcement.
