As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will greet shoppers and staff, respond to concerns, document observations, and communicate clearly with onsite teams. Requirements
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail and/or mall environment.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of sales floors, corridors, back-of-house areas, and exterior perimeters to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, policy concerns, and/or maintenance issues.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with disputes, medical situations, lost and found requests, and coordinating with store management and/or local responders as needed.
- Monitor access points and operational areas, observe for suspicious behavior and/or theft indicators, and communicate timely updates to site leadership while maintaining a professional presence.
- Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities in written reports and/or electronic systems, and follow post orders for notifications, evidence handling, and preservation of incident details.
