Summary: The Campus Security Officer is primarily responsible for protecting persons and property to provide a safe and secure campus environment. This position will be located on the East Peoria campus and will be scheduled for 3rd shift. Compensation for the Security Officer is $18.79-21.61/hour. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Patrol, inspect, and secure campus buildings and grounds. Investigate and report incidents and unusual conditions relating to the safety of the campus community. Respond immediately to emergency situations and take appropriate action to protect life and property. Perform actions necessary to ensure the safety and security of the campus and persons on the campus, in compliance with Illinois Compiled Statutes 720 ILCS 5/7-1 and 720 ILCS 5/7-3. Inspect and assist in the testing of fire control and alarm systems. Maintain effective working relationships with local police, fire and emergency services. Enforce college behavioral and parking regulations. Direct and control traffic and provide crowd control and security during special events and as required. Investigate and report complaints and traffic crashes. Work shifts as assigned to provide daily 24-hour service. Perform other duties as assigned.
