As an Access Control Officer at a busy retail location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, support badge and visitor processes, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. You will stay visible, conduct routine patrols, and communicate professionally with staff and shoppers to help reduce security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Have at least 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Be comfortable using computer or tablet - preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience - preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a retail location.
  • Control access at designated entrances and exits by greeting visitors, verifying identification and/or credentials as required, and maintaining visitor and delivery logs.
  • Monitor store entry points and surrounding areas for unusual activity, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, back-of-house areas, and perimeter to help to deter theft and/or unauthorized access, with working conditions varying by location.
