About The Position

As a Airport Security Officer - Lima Unit in Honolulu, HI, you will safeguard the airport, staff, and it's facilities. Along with driving, patrolling, checking, and securing doors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication to all visitors and staff. Requirements

Valid Driver's License (+1 years)
21+ years of age
Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening
Ability to pass a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office
Be at least 21 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.
The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a government transportation location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting relevant details to site leadership and/or public agency contacts.
Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, public areas, access points, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, policy violations, and/or potential hazards.
Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and visitor activity to help support authorized access practices and report suspicious behavior, unattended items, and/or operational concerns.
Assist with crowd management, directional assistance, and general public interactions while maintaining awareness of location rules, post orders, and/or changing conditions throughout the site.
