About The Position

Secure Parking Systems (SPS) is looking for reliable Part-Time Security Officers to oversee our parking lot operations in the Newark, NJ area. We are looking for a professional security guards to protect our premises, employee assets, and personnel entering/exiting the area. You will maintain a high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions.

Scope of Work
The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting company property, employee assets, and individuals entering and exiting the premises. This role requires maintaining a strong visible presence, monitoring activity within the area, and helping to prevent illegal or inappropriate actions while ensuring a safe and secure environment.

Shifts include: 6:00am -2:00pm, 2:00pm -10:00pm, 10:00pm -6:00am (Monday to Sunday). Days off to be determined

Compensation: $16.00 per hour

Requirements

• Valid New Jersey Security Officer Registration Act license (SORA)
• Minimum one-year of security experience in the related field a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work various shifts based on operational needs, including nights, overnights, and weekends
• Ability to remain vigilant, alert, and observant throughout the duration of the shift
• Communicate effectively with management both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and other inclement weather
• Valid US driver's License with at least 3 years of experience- approvals and final decision is subjected to our automobile insurance carrier's criteria

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers daily in a professional and courteous manner
• Conduct regular and consistent foot patrols of the assigned area
• Monitor employees and vehicles parking at the location
• Remain vigilant, alert, and observant at all times
• Operate and monitor surveillance systems and cameras within the Control Center in accordance with company procedures and best practices
• Providing efficient and courteous radio and telephone communication while responding to inquiries promptly
• Accurately document all events, incidents, and actions taken in a clear and legible written format
• Maintain secure handling of information and data in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations
• Ensure the security of the Control Center and all associated equipment is always maintained
