As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, maintain a visible presence that can help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, faculty, and visitors with clear communication and customer-focused service. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Respond to alarms, calls for service, and/or critical incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus partners and/or public responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, common areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards, unusual conditions, and policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and follow established procedures for visitor management, key control, and/or credential checks when assigned, documenting irregularities and notifying supervision as needed.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and activity logs, preserve observations and information for follow-up, and communicate security-related concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
