About The Position

We are currently hiring a full-time Security Officer for a site in Selkirk, NY. This position offers a pay rate of $17.50 per hour with a Monday through Friday, 1600-0000 schedule, totaling 40 hours per week. Requirements

Strong customer service and communication skills.
Excellent written skills for logging and report writing.
Ability to remain professional and calm in high-pressure or confrontational situations.
Comfortable working independently and maintaining awareness of surroundings.
Willingness to work outdoors when needed for brief interactions with drivers.
Reliable transportation is required, as public transit may not align with shift hours.

Prior security experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Monitor and control access to the facility from the guard shack at the entrance of the parking lot.
Allow vehicles in and out of the property and confirm they are permitted to be on site.
Use both technology systems and paper logs to accurately document vehicle entries and exits.
Utilize a scanning device to verify that vehicles being removed from the property are authorized to do so.
Oversee the secure entry and exit process for tractor trailers picking up vehicles stored on-site.
Maintain professionalism during interactions with drivers, visitors, and onsite personnel.
Write clear, accurate, and professional reports as needed.
Observe and report any suspicious activity or violations of site policies.
