As a Security Officer - Government Site - Full Time in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location supporting community services, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist with access control and badge checks. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and deliver respectful customer service. Requirements

  • Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, residents, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior spaces, common areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor entrances and controlled areas, assist with visitor processing and/or access authorization, and help maintain orderly movement through screening or check-in points per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support, notifications to supervisors and/or public agencies, and documenting actions taken.
  • Prepare complete and accurate daily activity logs and incident reports, and communicate observations and operational concerns to Allied Universal management and site representatives.
