About The Position

As a Security Officer - Full Time - Overnights in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, support badge and visitor processes, and maintain clear logs and reports. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and respond to security-related concerns with calm, professional communication and customer service. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients at an industrial location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Control access at gates, guard shacks, and/or entry points by verifying identification and authorization, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing deliveries to designated areas.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or access control systems; report irregular activity and document events according to post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, yards, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access, identify hazards, and report maintenance or operational concerns.
