As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned grounds, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and assist visitors and staff with professional customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or public services as required by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of grounds, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance issues for reporting.
  • Control access by monitoring entry points, checking credentials when directed, and directing guests to appropriate areas in accordance with site rules and scheduled services.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation, and communicate observations and/or policy violations to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.
