Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control in Carlsbad, NM , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a chemical and petrochemical location, you will focus on access control by greeting personnel and visitors, verifying credentials, managing entry and exit points, and documenting activity. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams to support smooth operations. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to Allied Universal clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial chemical and petrochemical location.
• Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing traffic flow per site procedures.
• Screen and/or inspect vehicles, deliveries, and packages as required, escalating irregularities and supporting site shipping and receiving protocols.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting actions taken, and assisting arriving responders per post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, process areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify hazards, and report maintenance or policy concerns.
