As a Security Officer - Elderly Facility Experience required in Allentown, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a residential healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols of interior and exterior areas, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance. You will support access points, observe and report unusual activity, and communicate clearly with staff, residents, and visitors while delivering customer-focused service aligned with our agile, reliable, and innovative values.

Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of law enforcement experience or 2+ years of security supervisor/manager experience or 3+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a residential care location.
  • Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to management and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions, assisting with visitor check-in expectations, directing traffic flow, and supporting staff with security-related concerns.
  • Complete shift activity reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to the Allied Universal supervisor and/or site leadership, and support continuity between shifts.
