About The Position

As a Security Officer - Full Time - Overnight in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy manufacturing and industrial location where you will manage access control, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, and document entries and deliveries. You will remain highly visible at key points, conduct routine rounds as needed, and communicate clearly with site teams to help identify and report security-related concerns. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
• Verify identification, credentials, and authorization for entry and/or deliveries, issue visitor badges when required, and help to maintain accurate entry and exit records.
• Monitor access points, gates, and controlled areas, report irregular activity, and communicate with site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying appropriate contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production areas, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
