This job follows established procedures and under the supervision of the shift supervisor, provides security for patients, employees, as assigned and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Enforces company policies and procedures and performs assigned duties that ensure the security of patients, guests, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.   • Enforces all company safety and security rules, regulations and policies on company property.
  • Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company.
  • Investigates accidents and incidents as assigned and report all occurrences in a timely manner.
  • Performs safety and security related duties as assigned and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Participates in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
  • Maintains required annual certifications and completes training requirements within required time periods.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
  • This employer maintains and complies with its Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including the immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct; patient/employee safety, patient privacy, and/or other compliance-related concerns.
  • Education Required - High School diploma or equivalent
  • Work Experience Required: 1 year Security, law enforcement, or military. Previous experience or is presently, an armed police officer with a Louisiana or Federal Law. Enforcement Agency (reserve status is acceptable) and has had arrest power and been assigned in an active law enforcement capacity.
  • Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Completion of Certified Police Officer of Standard Training Policy Academy (state, federal, or military).
  • Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certification or Military Police equivalent
  • Valid Louisiana driver’s license and clean DMV report
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), and firearms training
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.

  • This position is considered Team A Essential Personnel and must report for duty in the event of a disaster.
