About The Position

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a vigilant, responsible, and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observation skills, a strong sense of integrity, and the ability to respond effectively to various security situations. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure and orderly environment for everyone within our facility. Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance promptly and appropriately, including violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes in progress or committed, door openings, and emergency codes. Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed, and report unsafe acts or conditions. Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, supplies, reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigates security breaches, conducts follow-up investigations, and writes incident reports. Log all activities in a daily log to accurately record events; complete clear, concise, and legible reports promptly; use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers; and know the hospital campus to ensure those dispatched are sent to the right location. This position is represented by SEIU-SEC and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED Required.
  • Six (6) months of experience as a security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service required.
  • One (1) year of experience as a security officer is required.
  • CA Security License, showing no disciplinary actions required.
  • AHA BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • CA Driver's License required.

Responsibilities
