Job Description As a Security Officer - Overnights - Full Time in Cedar Rapids, IA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor check-in, and conduct routine patrols to help to deter security-related incidents. You will stay visible, communicate clearly with employees and contractors, and document activity with attention to detail. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, contractors, and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, access control procedures, and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control entry and exit at vehicle and/or pedestrian access points by verifying identification, authorizations, and delivery paperwork, issuing badges, and directing traffic flow in a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Monitor alarms, gates, doors, and camera views as assigned, and document access activity, unusual conditions, and security-related concerns using required logs and reporting tools.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including handling access disputes, reporting hazards or maintenance issues, and coordinating with site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including perimeter checks and key access points, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location.
