About The Position

To empower our senior participants to age at home with dignity through personalized, comprehensive care plans that deliver high-quality health and human services along with strong community support. Job Summary Under the supervision of the Facilities and Safety Manager, the Security Officer will maintain a safe and secure environment for members and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. In addition, the Security Officer will deter unwanted criminal activity, protect property and enforce rules on a property.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification required
  • Current Guard Card
  • Is medically cleared for communicable diseases and has all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant contact.

Responsibilities

  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment and access points; permitting entry
  • Obtains help by sounding alarms or initiating police
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures
  • Provide protection for equipment and workers along with checking credentials of vehicles and individuals entering and exiting the premises.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, projects, and committees as assigned.
  • Adhere to and support the center’s practices, procedures, and policies including assigned break times and attendance.
  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner; and perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • Be flexible in schedule of hours worked.
  • May require use of personal vehicle
