The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a secure, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff, physicians, and volunteers. This position is responsible for proactively patrolling and monitoring facility grounds to deter, detect, and respond to security or safety threats. Duties include access control, emergency response coordination, and the documentation of suspicious activities, safety hazards, and policy violations. Utilizes de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed practices to reduce harm and support a therapeutic care environment. Acts as an ambassador of security and safety, providing courteous, visible, and helpful presence across all areas of the facility supporting a Culture of Excellence. Security Officers provide direct support during incidents, including assisting with the management of disruptive or violent individuals, and work collaboratively with internal departments and external law enforcement to ensure a timely and appropriate resolution to security concerns.
