About The Position

Under general supervision, act as a support division to the Southside ISD Police Department while providing safety and security for the students, faculty and employees of the district.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas driver' s license
  • Ability to record information
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)
  • Ability to work at varied hours of day and night, including weekends
  • Ability to work well with youth and adults
  • Ability to pass alcohol/drug test
  • Have a clear criminal record background as verified by the State of Texas
  • Acceptable driving record as verified by the Texas Department of Public Safety annually

  • Reports to assigned area and promptly at the designated hour.
  • Performs specific duties assigned such as gate guard duty, security patrol of campus, or traffic control.
  • Remains on duty during the entire shift, unless otherwise authorized by supervisor.
  • Remains alert during entire shift and report all intruders or vandals without approaching and/or attempting to apprehend.
  • Assists police officers in directing traffic, including school buses during school hours.
  • Assists law enforcement personnel as needed.
  • Notifies on-duty police officer (or appropriate agency if none on-duty), fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention.
  • Gives directions or act as a guide to authorized visitors.
  • Prepares and submits all required reports on a timely basis, to include Incident Reports.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information received during the conduct of duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensures availability at varied hours and report as directed by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
