About The Position

The organization is seeking a Security Officer to provide a physical presence for the prevention and detection of adverse conditions that could risk the safety and security of the hospital environment. This role involves protecting the welfare of patients, visitors, staff, and facility assets. The position requires interaction with a diverse group of people, often involving difficult, stressful, complex, detailed, and sensitive communications, and a high degree of interpersonal skills to manage complicated problem situations and gain agreement from others.

Requirements

Valid Driver’s License
Basic Life Support and CPI within 60 days
High School diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Law enforcement or criminal justice coursework preferred

Responsibilities

Provide a physical presence for the purpose of prevention and/or detection of adverse conditions which would place the safety and security of the hospital environment at risk
Protect welfare of patients, visitors, staff and facility assets
Interact with a variety of people inside or outside the organization
Handle difficult or stressful communications
Deal with complex, detailed and often sensitive topics
Deal with a range of complicated problem situations
Gain the agreement of others in interactions
