From routine perimeter and building checks to monitoring guests while responding promptly to emergency situations, our Security Officers find themselves always on the move! We are currently on the hunt for dependable individuals to add to our Security team. The Indianapolis Zoo's Security team work diligently to provide a safe, secure environment for our guests, volunteers, employees, animals, and plants. On a year-round 24/7 basis, full-time Security Officers conduct internal and external patrols, investigate unusual or suspicious situations, conduct safety/ security inspections, maintain records and logs as assigned, and enforce Zoo procedures and regulations, along with any other tasks directed by management. This position requires excellent verbal communication skills, as our Security Officers interact with Zoo employees, guests, and volunteers daily. Ideal candidates are committed to advancing the Zoo's mission to protect nature and inspire people to care for our world. Past work experience in security, law enforcement, military or extensive customer service experience is strongly desired. This is a part-time, 20-29 hours per week position that requires the flexibility to work varying shifts and schedules. Open availability along with availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays are a requirement.
