About The Position

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Provide security services for patients, visitors and staff throughout the hospital, clinics and administrative facility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to successfully complete and maintain CPR certification.
• Security experience preferred.
• Documented experience and training in physical restraining combative individuals using a minimum of force or successfully complete before first sole duty.
• Valid State of Alaska driver's license required.
• Demonstrated ability to tactfully and successfully interact with the public in a cross-cultural setting.
• Must be physically fit (job requirements: heavy lifting, possible physical restraining violent individuals).
• Yupik fluency is desirable.
• Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to the privacy act.
• This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span (e.g. pediatric/adult/geriatric) and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the assigned unit's policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Yupik fluency is desirable.
