About The Position

Provides hospital security including- loss prevention, asset protection, personnel protection, parking and traffic control, facility access control, and emergency response. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days.
• Class C driver license.
• Must have or obtain within 14 days of hire date a Non-Commissioned Security License: The employee must not have been convicted of a Class B misdemeanor or of greater offense. The employee must not have been found by a court to be incompetent by reason of a mental defect or disease, suffering from habitual abuse of addictive substance, and must not have been discharged from the United States armed services under dishonorable conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine patrol and takes necessary action to ensure facility security and safety.
• Responds to calls for assistance and addresses issues of concern to ensure the safety and security of hospital staff, visitors, and property.
• Properly uses and maintains vehicle, keys, equipment, and work areas.
• Demonstrates diligence in documenting work activity by utilizing departmental forms and reports.
• Responds to emergency code calls, alarms, and drills quickly, and takes appropriate action
• Communicates with police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Operates vehicle in a safe manner by utilizing strobe lights, staying alert, and driving at speeds under 10 mph.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
