About The Position

Responsible for the safeguarding of property, assets, guests, visitors and associates by making continuous patrols of the property.

Requirements

  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of property policy and fire-safety procedures.
  • Ability to operate hand held two-way radio and knowledge of ten codes.
  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
  • All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance (specific standards available).
  • Upon employment all associates are required to comply with the standards, rules and regulations which may be established by the Company and updated from time to time.
  • Associates who violate property rules or have irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • The Hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules, weekends, holidays and overtime to reflect the business needs of the property.
  • Associates may also be required to attend group and/or department meetings in addition to the work shift as necessary.
  • In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol property to ensure the safety of guests and associates and to protect all property assets.
  • Answer house calls, assist guests and associates with respect to safety, security and property operations.
  • Initiate and follow-up all investigations of crimes committed against property and persons.
  • Assist sick and injured guests and associates, ensuring documentation and disposition of reports.
  • Initiate investigations, write incident and accident reports, monitor investigations to their timely conclusion and ensure appropriate follow-up with guests, visitors and associates, documenting all contacts.
  • Maintain accurate records while performing basic office duties including, but not limited to, camera monitoring, shift activity log, codebook, and associate and guest binder interaction.
  • Ensure that any undesirable persons are effectively handled without interrupting the orderly flow of property operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Follow all Security Department standards including being relieved by the following shift officer(s) before clocking out.
  • Assist supervisor in checking alarm systems, safety and fire equipment systems and closely monitoring security of building doors, service areas and delivery areas.
