About The Position

First-line Officer tasked in the protection of the hotel, its guests, employees, and property. This position requires consistent adherence to policies and procedures of the department as outlined in the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP’S).

Requirements

  • High school diploma is required
  • Prior Security experience in the hospitality industry is preferred
  • Must be able to: Speak, read, write and understand the English language.
  • Compute accurate mathematical calculations.
  • Provide legible communication and directions.
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Prioritize and organize.
  • Think clearly, remaining calm and resolving problems using sound judgment.
  • Follow directions thoroughly.
  • Understand guest’s service needs.

  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent resort data.
  • Use a computer keyboard and possess basic typing skills.

  • Adept to multitasking.
  • Must be able to: Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Use, carry, and operate all necessary office equipment using finger dexterity.
  • Communicate with employees, managers, subordinates and guests through verbal communication, hearing ability, and visual acuity.
  • Visually look at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Adapt to moderate temperatures in the hotel as thermostat is controlled by hotel environmental systems.
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors.
  • Work knowing it may involve an element of person danger.
  • Use psychomotor coordination to operate a vehicle.
  • Have binocular and monocular vision of no more than 20/100 uncorrected and 20/30 or better corrected.
  • A Florida Driver’s License is required
  • State of Florida Class “D” Security Officer license is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Use the SafeLok Locking Systems, Salient Video Management System, El Safe, etc…
  • Be knowledgeable of MSDS program.
  • Should maintain open communications with all department heads.
  • Maintain on-going Security Loss Prevention Shopping Service.
  • Maximize security effectiveness by conducting security patrols in high risk and all common areas.
  • Handle all incidents with discretion.
  • Keep Rooms Division and Hotel Manager informed of all incidents that may affect Hotel operation security related or not.
  • Other duties as assigned.
