Position Summary: This is a part-time position (less than 30 hrs per week) which has shifts available Monday through Friday between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The officer will serve as a uniformed deterrent to criminal activity, assist in managing access control, and ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and property.

Requirements

  • Must be an active-duty Houston Police Department officer in good standing with the department
  • Must be Authorized to work extra jobs in accordance with HPD policy.
  • Must provide own uniform, badge, and duty gear.
  • At least five years of full-time employment as a peace officer licensed by TCLEOSE or an equivalent licensing entity in another state and be in good standing.
  • Confidential discretion is required.
  • Professional demeanor, integrity, good judgment, dependable, always display emotional control, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suit.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with corporate security or similar off-duty assignments preferred.
  • Video Surveillance Skills is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings and access points.
  • Responds to disturbances, emergencies, and suspicious activities.
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities may restrain trespassers.
  • Reports suspicious behaviors to relevant departments such as Safety, Facilities, or HR.
  • Direct or control traffic exiting the parking garage at the close of business day.
  • Provide escort services for employees when necessary (e.g., to parking structures after hours or upon request).
  • Write brief incident reports when required.
