About The Position

Waldo Hospital offers a wide range of services to the Belfast and surrounding communities. We have an immediate opening for a per diem Security Officer to join our care team. Under the general direction of a security manager, supervisor, or management designee, the Safety Security Officer will monitor the healthcare environment to help prevent security incidents from occurring and deescalate incidents as they emerge. The Security Officer will help generate a feeling of personal safety and good will among staff, patients, and visitors. The Security Officer may provide protective services, and, with sufficient training, patient restraints as deemed necessary by medical staff. The security officer will also assist with the development and coordination of related departmental policies, procedures, and programs, in accordance with federal, state, OSHA, and NIOSH regulations. This position can be called upon to provide support in other areas within the hospital as needed. Summary: This position is per diem with variable hours. The Security Officer role is responsible for monitoring the healthcare environment to help prevent security incidents from occurring and deescalating incidents as they emerge. May provide protective services and, with sufficient training, patient restraints as deemed necessary by medical staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • If appropriate for location, must obtain IAHSS certification within one year of hire required.
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • Valid Driver's license if required at local Health System.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or similar to be completed within local Health System requirements.
  • Completion of HIC 100, 200, and 700 if required by facility.
  • Relevant experience in hospital safety and security preferred.
