About The Position

The major function of the Security Officer is to maintain safe and secure environment for patients and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Willing to participate in a pre-employment screening process (drug screen and background check).
  • Prior experience in security, corrections, or military background required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Training in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques (e.g., MOAB – Management of Aggressive Behavior).
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound judgments in stressful situations.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening (as required).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a healthcare, patient-facing, or opioid treatment environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding opioid treatment programs and controlled substances is beneficial.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).

Responsibilities

  • Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; and permitting authorized entry.
  • Respond to emergencies and obtain help by sounding alarms or contacting law enforcement/first responders as necessary.
  • Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, enforcing clinic policies, and addressing violations in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Document all activities by completing incident reports, recording observations, interviewing witnesses, and obtaining signatures when appropriate.
  • Support facility safety by monitoring and maintaining building and equipment controls (e.g., alarms, doors, lighting).
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, organizational, and regulatory requirements to maintain safety and stability.
  • Monitor and maintain a secure environment on the exterior of the building, ensuring safety for patients and staff during arrival and departure.
  • Contribute to team effort by assisting staff, supporting patient flow, and addressing safety concerns in a professional manner.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the MAR program.
  • All other duties as assigned
