The position enforces the security policies and procedures of EverTrue and the community; guards against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry to property by performing various duties.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of related experience and/or training.
• Must apply for security license within 90 days of employment if required by city, county or state and meet the qualifications for such license.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to follow simple oral and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the community on foot and by vehicle to maintain a safe environment and provides security for visitors, residents, and employees.
• Surveys the community for safety hazards, fires, suspicious people or other hazardous conditions.
• Ensures security of doors, windows, and gates by performing routine checks.
• Provides escort service to buildings and parking lots and assists residents to gain entry to their apartments as needed.
• Responds to physical alarms.
• Assists residents with minor repairs in the absence of maintenance.
• Picks up trash during rounds in the patio homes and apartments.
• Delivers newspapers.
• Performs security searches as needed.
• Provides assistance to the Fire Department and staff during fire/disasters.
• Monitors heavy equipment and pressure gauges.
• Monitors light outage and maintenance.
• Investigates theft and property damage reports.
• Participates in snow removal.
• Completes knowledge of alarms and procedures.
• Sounds alarm or calls police, fire department by telephone if needed.
• Writes concise and factual reports on each incident that occurs during a shift.
• May operate telephone/paging system receiving and transferring all incoming, internal, and external phone calls and making pages.
